What is the difference between fast charging data line
and ordinary data line

News 2022.7.3

The difference between quick charging data line and ordinary data line is mainly reflected in charging interface, wire thickness and charging power. The charging interface of the fast charging data line is generally Type-C, with thicker wire and higher charging power. Ordinary data line is GENERALLY USB interface, wire is relatively thin, charging power is lower. The specific differences are as follows:

Difference 1: Different charging ports

In general, the charging interface of the fast charging data cable is Type-C interface, which needs to be used with the fast charging head of Type-C interface. The interface of common data line is USB interface, which can be used with common USB interface charging head.

Distinction 2: wire thickness is different

Due to the use of fast charging data line with fast charging head for charging, the current through the data line is relatively larger than the ordinary data line, so the fast charging data line needs to be equipped with better wire core, shielding layer, wire skin, etc., which results in the wire diameter is larger than the ordinary data line, wire thicker. And ordinary data line charging power is small, the current through the data line is small, so the wire is relatively thin.

Difference three: different charging power

The fast charging data line needs to be used with the fast charging head. If both the wire and the charging head support 50W fast charging, the power during charging is 50W. If the cable is not equipped with the fast charging head, the fast charging cannot be realized due to the limitation of the charging head. Ordinary data line is generally matched with non-fast charging head, such as 5W charging head, whose charging power is lower.
